Truck Licence and Dangerous Goods Training in Brisbane

Oz Logistics Training delivers heavy vehicle licensing and Dangerous Goods training across Brisbane, with facilities at Zillmere on the northside and Wynnum, Cleveland and Logan on the southside. We run HR, HC and MC licence programs, the TLILIC0001 Licence to Transport Dangerous Goods, Safe Load Programs, and the full set of Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management units. Training is delivered on behalf of RTO RAISE (provider number 91655), so every course leads to nationally recognised certification.

Where we train in Brisbane

Brisbane drivers don’t all live near the same depot, so we run training out of four locations across the city. Zillmere covers the northside and the airport corridor. Wynnum, Cleveland and Logan cover the southside, the bayside, and the southern industrial belt. The Wynnum site is also where we run our Heavy Rigid open non-restricted training, which means Road Ranger and double-clutch work for drivers who need an unrestricted HR licence rather than the synchromesh-only variant.

Course bookings include site selection at the time of booking. If you’re flexible on location, we’ll usually be able to fit you in sooner.

Training around a working schedule

Most Brisbane participants are already working when they book, often as drivers stepping up from a car licence into HR, or HR-licensed drivers progressing to HC or MC. We run HR sessions from 6:00am to 6:00pm and HC sessions from 6:00am to 5:00pm, six days a week. Early morning starts are the most popular booking type because drivers can finish a session and still get to a midday shift, or do a full day of training without burning a week’s leave.

For test bookings, we organise the appointment with Queensland Transport on your behalf. The $200 deposit secures your test slot and is credited to your course fee.

Compliance training for Brisbane operators

Brisbane runs heavy traffic, time-sensitive freight, and dense urban delivery routes, which means Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management aren’t paperwork exercises. They’re how operators stay on the right side of NHVR audits and protect drivers when something goes wrong on the road. We run the TLIF Chain of Responsibility and fatigue units as classroom courses, and we run the Safe Load Program and load restraint units for drivers who need formal evidence of load competency.

For businesses, we deliver these as group bookings at our facilities or onsite at your depot. Custom VOC assessments are available where you need a competency check tailored to specific vehicles, loads, or site conditions.

Brisbane truck training FAQs

Q: Where exactly are your Brisbane training locations?

A: We train at Zillmere (northside), Wynnum, Cleveland and Logan (southside). The Wynnum site is the only Brisbane location running Heavy Rigid open non-restricted (Road Ranger / double-clutch) training. The exact site is confirmed at the time of booking.

Q: Can I get an HR licence in Brisbane in one day?

A: Yes. Our HR Licence in a Day program is $995 and includes training, assessment, and the Queensland Transport booking fee. You’ll need to hold a current open car licence and meet the medical and eyesight requirements before the booking date.

Q: What’s the difference between HR synchromesh and HR open non-restricted in Brisbane?

A: A synchromesh HR licence allows you to drive HR vehicles with synchromesh transmissions only. An open non-restricted HR (commonly Road Ranger) allows any HR transmission type. If you want the unrestricted version, you train at our Wynnum location.

Q: Do you offer Dangerous Goods training in Brisbane?

A: Yes. The TLILIC0001 Licence to Transport Dangerous Goods is delivered over two consecutive days, 6:30am to 3:30pm each day, at $475. It’s a nationally recognised unit and the standard Australian Dangerous Goods driver licence.

All training is delivered on behalf of RTO – RAISE (91655), ensuring recognised certification.

Licensing and Compliance Training for Brisbane’s Transport Network

Operating in Brisbane means navigating dense traffic conditions, time-sensitive freight movement, and strict compliance expectations. Training reflects this reality. Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, and load restraint are integrated alongside licensing to ensure drivers understand not just how to operate a vehicle, but how to do so within a regulated system.
